Great success for Liquid Motion at Triathlone 2009

Last Saturday saw the fourth running of Triathlone.  We had a good turnout from Liquid Motion with as usual some outstanding results. 

In the Olympic Distance event Marcus Allen and Gerry Devaney put in excellent performances to win 1st place in their respective age groups. 

In the Sprint Distance event there were several highlights: 

James Brady had an outstanding 2nd place finish in the Junior age group followed in 3rd place by David Devaney with Aaron Donnelly and Daniel Devaney also putting in great times.  It is tremendous to see juniors in the Club, all enjoying their racing, and all performing at such a high standard. 

Gareth McCormack finished fourth overall in his age group and has now secured a coveted automatic entry into the 2010 European Championships in Athlone.  Paul Dunne is back in Triathlon with a bang and with his performance will have hopefully secured his place in the 2010 European Championships. Stephen Donnelly was unlucky with bike mechanical problems.  David Donnelly put in a great performance. Mary Dunne was (for the second time this year) unfortunate in losing her timing chip while Michelle Reynolds did really well in the Try event.

As for me.  Well I gave it a go!

Well done to everyone.  Next event for some is this Saturdays Connemara Triathlon while there should be a great turnout on Sunday for the Crossmolina Aquathon.
