Aquathon

An Aquathon (Swim/Run) is being organised by Crossmolina Festival for Saturday 21st July 2007 and is planned to take place at Gortna Abbey Pier just outside Crossmolina Town on the Lahardane road. The location is stunning. The distances have not officially been finalised but look likely to be a 500m swim in Lough Conn followed by a 5K run through Crossmolina town centre. It is intended to be a low key affair for its first year and is not being advertised nationally but it is a great opportunity for our top swimmers to do well, so pencil it in your diary and show some local support. If anyone is interested in going down there for a swim let me know. The organisers would like to know the best place to have it, the lake is quite big and they are spolit for choice, we could make a training session out of it! Good Luck. David.
