- Spring Duathlon Series - Race One.
-
A beautiful sunny morning greeted the athletes taking part in Race One of the Spring Duathlon Series. Although it was crisp it was dry and no frost. A good turn out from club members to take part in the Duathlon and burn off a bit of turkey and Christmas pud. Tough as it was it will certainly stand to them come June and the Triathlon season proper.
Sean Gallagher, as expected led the pace on the first run but it was an improving James Brady who took the lead on the bike and never looked back to cross the line first to take the 10 points, with Sean coming in a close second. Once again it was great and encouraging to see so many new faces.
Race Two on 8th February. Sign on at 10am at The Ramada Hotel, Ballina. Race start at 10.30. All welcome.

- Club Meeting Sat 31st Jan
-
As hopefully everyone will have seen, our Salmon Run Triathlon is now locked into this years Triathlon Ireland Calender for Saturday 11th July. It is important that we as a Club come together to form a Committee to lead the Organisation of this years event. I am therefore calling a meeting of all Club Members to take place in the Dock Bar at 8pm on Saturday 31st January. I encourage everyone to attend as the success of our Triathlon depends every year on our ability to help out in the organisation. The Agenda for the meeting will cover the following;
- Formation of Race Committee and appointment of race coordinator
- Review of minutes from our AGM and update on any actions identified
- Ideas discussion to see whether there any initiatives we might want to take on and any potential volunteers
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 31st Jan (if not before at our Friday Swim Training or our Duathlon Series).

- Friday Swimming Training
-
Swimming training will resume this Friday the 16th at 9:30pm in the Ballina Swiming Pool.
The training is open to all members or anyone interested in becoming a member to train in a group environment and hopefully improve their swimming to some degree.
The price per session is €5. This goes towards covering the hire of the pool.
The plan is to hold the swim sessions for the next 12 weeks however this will all depend on the numbers participating.
