- Tubbercurry 10km road race
-
There were 103 finishers in the 36th running of the South Sligo Athletic Club St. Patrick's day 10k road race in Tubbercurry with a good Ballina representation. It was a beautiful day for the run although there was a deceptive breeze. The wind and hills combined made the first half of the race quite tough. When the terrain and breeze were favourable, energy stores were depleted. It was great to get a time for 10k posted for the first time this year and there will be further races during the year to strenghten the run part of the triathlon discipline. The Ballina/Liquid Motion finishers were as follows:
Seán Gallagher 35:54;Peter Tuohy 39:40; Stephen Donnelly 42:03; Deirdre Lynn 46:51; Alan Murphy 47:31; Michael Courell 48:43; Tom Horkan 51:56; Elizabeth Murphy 54:14

- Spring Duathlon Race 3 Report
-
Race 3 of our Spring Duathlon Series took place today at the Ramada between the snow showers. Nine brave club members turned out in bitter conditions. At 10am with snow falling it looked like we were going to have to call off the start, however a break in the weather arrived just in time for all to decide to give it a go. From the start Sean Gallagher, Stephen Donnelly and Peter Touhy set off on a strong pace. At T1 Sean came in first closely followed by Stephen then Peter. Stephen then put in a blistering split on the bike and came into T2 in first. Sean put in a great second run split to come in first closely followed by Stephen then Peter. Well done to everyone for turning out (Deirdre L, Grace F, Sean G, Stephen D, Pat B, Ivan K, Brendan R, Peter T, Eamonn K, ). Race 4 will take place in 2 weeks time. Results are attached below.
