- Open Water Swim Training
-
Summer has finally arrived and its time to get back in the water and brave the elements again.
So with great pleasure we can announce that the open water swim training will be back in action in Enniscrone (pier) on Monday the 1st of June at 7:00pm and every Monday at 7:00pm for the rest of the Summer.
We try to gear the training in a way that it offers some similarities to upcoming triathlons that club members will take part in.
So for Mullaghmore we usuall train in Enniscrone, for the Salmon Run we obviously train in the River Moy and in August we tend to train at Gortnor Abbey pier (Lough Conn) for the Aquathon.
The training is for members only and caters for all stardards and abilities. However it up to everyone to be responsible for their own safety. Membership forms will be available at training.
I hope to see plenty of the faces from the friday night swims take part. I hope ye kept up the training!
Keep checking the web site for any changes in location or cancellations that might occur.

- The 2009 Triathlon Season has started
-
Last Sunday saw the start of the 2009 Triathlon Season with the Joey Hannon Memorial Triathlon taking place at University of Limerick. We had great participation from the Club both in the Olympic and Sprint events. The day was fine (if a little cool), with the first wave of the Olympic distance event away at 09:30. Stephen Donnelly led the way for Liquid Motion with a blistering overall time of 02:20:26 (coming in 22nd overall). Stephen was followed in by James Brady who set a great time of 02:24:49. In all 8 club members gave the Olympic distance event a go. With 3 club members completing the Sprint event. Well done to Tomas Lynn who came in 9th overall in the Sprint event and a special well done to Michelle Reynolds who completed her first triathlon.
Limerick Triathlon Club did a brilliant job organising this very big event with over 182 competitors completing the Olympic distance and 192 competitors completing the Sprint distance.
Well done to everyone from Liquid Motion who travelled to Limerick last weekend (Stephen Donnelly, James Brady, David Donnelly, Deirdre Lynn, Brendan Ryder, Orla Donnelly, Pat Hughes, Tomas Lynn, Michelle Reynolds, Linda Sweeney, myself).

- Mayo AC league
- Mayo AC organise a road race league over distances from 5K to 10K. The races are a great opportunity to run against the best road runners in Connaught. You will also find that your PBs for these distances will improve. It is great training for the run element of the triathlon. See the attachment below for the race calendar for this year and I hope to see many of you at the races. Look out for club runs due to be organised in the near future.
